Born and raised in Perth, Scotland, my first Cavalier entered my life in 1971 when I was just 14 years old, and they have been my passion ever since.
As a competitive horsewoman, my focus on showing and breeding Cavaliers developed more seriously in the early 1980s. My first Champion, Ch Millhill La Peche JW, was born in 1986 and achieved her title in 1989 by winning Best in Show at The Scottish CKCS Championship Show.
Since then, I have had the honor of producing six UK Champions across three of the four Cavalier colors:
Additionally, I have bred several other CC and RCC winners, including the notable sire Hometown Ever Hopeful at Millhill (2 CCs, 3 RCCs) and Millhill La Fraise JW (2 RCCs), the mother of four champions. There have also been multiple Millhill champions overseas.
I have been awarding CCs in Cavaliers for over 25 years and am also approved to award CCs in Papillons. In 2027, I will have the privilege of judging Cavaliers at Crufts. I have also judged Cavaliers in the USA, Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, Germany, and France, as well as at numerous CC appointments in the UK.
I am truly excited about my upcoming judging appointment in Ontario and greatly look forward to the opportunity to assess your beautiful Cavaliers.

I was delighted & honoured to be invited to judge Cavalier Fanciers of Southern Ontario Specialty.
Canada is a country I’ve always wanted to visit and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Thank you to the
Committee for the invitation and to the Exhibitors for your entries.

CROSSTICKLE’S LITTLE STINKER - 8mth tricolour lad who was a decent size. Head slightly
narrow currently, much will depend on how he matures. He had dark, round eyes which could have
been slightly bigger. A correct bite with strong teeth.Would have liked a little more tan on his face.
Neat in body shape. Falls away slightly over the croup but he had a well carried tail. He moved
parallel both ways. Nonetheless, he has promise.

1. CAVIOLIA’S THUNDERSTRUCK & BLOWN AWAY - 11mth black & tan with the most attractive
head. Skull almost flat between his well set ears. Large, dark, round, expressive eyes and a well filled
muzzle of the correct length. He could have slightly more neck for my ideal. He had good spring of rib
and was short coupled. Moderate bone. He had a quality coat, straight, jet black and rich tan points in
all the right places. Well balanced in profile and carried a level topline. Once he settled he made a
lovely picture going round and moved straight coming and going. A very promising puppy that I liked a
lot. BEST PUPPY IN SHOW & RES. WINNERS DOG

2. SYRENIA’S WINSMAN SANTINO - 10mth blenheim. Heavier in type and rather strong in head for
me. Would have liked a larger, darker eye. He had a correct bite with large, strong, teeth. His
shoulder and upper arm angles were correct and he had good bone. He moved a little wide going
away and was erratic coming towards.

1. MIDSUMMER’S WALTER - 14mth tricolour lad full of quality. Attractive head, plenty fill under his
round, dark eyes and lots of rich tan. Strong teeth. Liked his size, bone and balance. He had enough
neck and correct angled upper arm. Very neat in body with a well sprung rib and short coupling. He
had neat, short rear pasterns and a level topline on the move. He still needs to gain more confidence
in the showring but if he does, could trouble the best. Happy to award him WINNERS DOG

1. RULER’S CHARLIE BROWN AT DELLEROSE Very glamorous blenheim. He had a masculine
head with large, round, dark, eyes and pigmented rims. I would’ve preferred that they were set lower
in the head. Correct scissor bite and strong teeth. Enough neck and well sprung rib, longer in loin.
Short rear pasterns and moved well behind. Profuse coat, rich in colour.

1. GCHB JEWELCROFT’S GOING CONCERN 12 1/2yr old ruby boy. A size bigger but so much to
like. Beautiful head and expression from large, dark, round eyes and pigmented eye rims. Full
dentition which was a correct scissor bite and strong teeth. Very good in front angulation with tight
elbows. He was well ribbed and short in coupling. He had a well presented rich, ruby coatMoved
parallel coming and going. A lovely veteran in sparkling condition. Thank you for bringing him, he’s a
credit to you.

1. SIGMACHI AND LONDONCOR JANE AT FIELDS EDGE - 6mth blenheim. Sweet head, skull
almost flat between well set ears, dark, round eyes with plenty cushioning under them. Black pigment.
Richly marked with a quality straight coat. Good in neck with well placed shoulder. Slightly longer cast
and currently narrow all through, consequently moved close in front and behind. Hopefully time will
see a change in this. Would’ve liked more bone.

1. HALFMOON BREAK THE BOUNDARIES - 15mth Ruby, stylish looking girl with pretty,
unexaggerated head, skull almost flat beween the ears. Dark eyes, correct scissor bite. Good neck
achieved by correctly angled shoulder, would just like a little more upper arm. She had a well sprung
rib, covered by a richly coloured ruby coat. Moved with great head carriage, a level topline and
correctly carried tail. She was correctly balanced and once she’s in full coat should make a lovely
overall picture. Happy to award her WINNERS BITCH

2. WHIMSY SIGMA CHI FRANCESCA AT LONDONCOR - 14mth Blenheim with a pretty head, dark,
round eyes and dark nose pigment. Correct scissor bite. She had a well marked, plentiful coat. Slightly
longer cast. Falls away at the croup. I liked her size and her free movement. Very happy temperament.

3. MIDSUMMER’S JOURNEY OF LOVE - 13mth Blenheim. Immature in head and would like more
cushioning in muzzle. Dark, round eyes. She had a rich, well marked coat. Although rather “flat” on the
move she had a level topline and moved ok coming and going. Would like more bone.

1. MIDSUMMER’S MARGARET - Blenheim who, after going over her was not surprised that the
more I watched her, the more I liked her. A very neat, short coupled, well balanced girl with moderate
bone, covered in a richly covered coat. Ideal in size. Head is immature and hope it fills out under the
eyes in time but she had dark eyes and nose with correct scissor bite. She moved with ease and
precision both fore and aft, had a level topline and well carried tail. “A very useful bitch”.

2. RULERS BROWN BETTY - Blenheim, larger in size and not quite as “together” in body. Large
eyes. Showed a little tongue and I was unable to assess her bite properly because her mouth wouldn’t
close fully. I suspect this has to do with rear teeth. Longer in body. Very well presented and in good
condition. Not as good behind as 1.

1. CEMPA HOLD ON SHE’S COMING - Ruby with a lot to like. Strong headed for me but she had a
well cushioned muzzle, large, round eyes with a very soft expression. Good neck and correctly
angulated shoulder. Good spring of rib and a richly coloured plentiful coat in excellent condition.
Slightly longer cast. Looked great in profile moving round. A nice bitch.

2. CARVER’S DIRTY GERTIE - Ruby. Another nice bitch who had a more feminine head than 1 with
large dark eyes, soft expression and well cushioned muzzle. Another who had well angulated
shoulders, good spring of rib and a plentiful coat, beautifully presented and in good condition although
not as rich in colour and not quite as good behind as 1. However, it was a close decision.

3. MIDSUMMER’S VICTORIA - Tricolour. Very feminine girl with large, dark, round eyes and plenty of
rich tan in all the right places. Needs more filling under the eyes. Correct bite. Her markings were very
“clean cut” and she had the correct coat type - straight and silky and the black was jet black. Liked her
size but could do with a little more bone.

1. HALFMOON DELTA DART - Blenheim, up to size but attractive in type. Pretty head with dark,
round eyes complete with dark rims. Dark nose pigment. Correct scissor bite. Could have slightly more
neck. Well sprung rib and in excellent coat and condition. Moved straight in front coming towards. A
little close behind. In profile, she had good head carriage and a level topline. Slightly rounded off at the
croup and tail carried higher than ideal. Overall, still a quality girl.

2. SIGMA CHI’S NANCY WHISKEY AT DAWNAQUINN - Smaller made blenheim. Head almost flat
between ears.Dark eyes and good nose pigment. Needs to body up, short in coupling. Liked her
size.

3. CACAMBRIDGE OVER THE RAINBOW - Tricolour - Attractive head shape with rich tan
markings. Would like a darker eye. Correctly laid shoulders and upper arm. Longer cast. Heavier
marked coat which was profuse and presented in good condition. Parallel movement coming and
going.

4. SYRENIA’S FEMME FATALE - A heavier set girl all through. She had a correct scissor bite but
would like a darker eye. Slightly over ribbed. Well marked coat and she had good bone. Movement
was parallel and she was very together going round.

1. HALFMOON NON STOP CHATTER - 12yr old blenheim. Larger in size. Moderate in head with
large, dark, round eyes and still with good pigment. Very sprightly and free moving. A credit to her
owners.

2. GCH MIDSUMMER’S LIFE IS A HIGHWAY - 9yr old blenheim, liked her size. Her head needs
more filling under the eyes. She had a richly coloured coat and had moderate bone. Slightly falls
away at the croup. A decent bitch tho.

1. CH CEMPA MY HEART WILL GO ON - Glamourous blenheim bitch. Prettiest of heads with
large, dark, round eyes and sweet expression, plenty cushioning. Correct bite. Well laid shoulders
and upper arm led into a level topline. Well ribbed. She was slightly longer cast. Beautifully
presented profuse coat. Moved true coming and going. Loved her style and proud head carriage
going round in profile. A very nice bitch and I was happy to award her BEST OF BREED

2. CH CEDARCREEK AT YOUR BECK N CALL FOR CANTERBURY - High quality tricolour boy.
Correct type of head with large dark eyes and rich tan in all the right places. Correct scissor bite.
Well ribbed, short coupled body. Liked his size and moderate bone. Correct coat type, straight and
silky and presented to perfection. Going round he kept a level topline with correct tail carriage. Just
pipped by the bitch who was so stylish to watch going round. BEST OPPOSITE SEX

1. MYSTIC SKYNIE RIVERBAD RICHIE - 7 month Tricolour. Quality baby with everything just right
for his age. Attractive head with dark eyes and a correct bite. Correct in spring of rib for age, short
coupled in body. Plenty of confidence and accomplished for one so young. Should do well.

1. CASTLETON CAVALIERS ROCKIN’ ROXY 18weeks ruby. Lovely baby just right for her age.

her size. Moved with style. BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW

1. HALFMOON NON STOP CHATTER - (see Veteran Bitch)
I grew up in Northern Ireland where my first dog was an English Springer Spaniel. I came from a family of Sporting dogs as my mother had bred English Cockers and my father worked Labradors.
My first show dog was an Afghan Hound, a breed I stayed with from the seventies for three decades. However, I am known for the pioneer work and long time involvement with the PBGV, having bred over 150 Champions worldwide.
Cavaliers came into my life back in the eighties and I established my line of Dehra breeding, based largely on Ronnoc and Homerbrent lines. A number of exports to the USA, before the breed was AKC recognised, pre-dated my own move state-side in the mid nineties when several Cavaliers accompanied me! I stayed pretty true to these lines and in those early days of AKC recognition produced foundation Cavaliers for a number of breeders as well as successfully breeding a steady number of Champions and Group placing Cavaliers for the Dehra kennel.
I have judged Cavaliers not only in the USA but also in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. I judge the Hound, Sporting and most of the Terrier Groups. Although no longer breeding Cavaliers, they still remain a heart breed for me!

Thank you for inviting me to judge your Specialty. There was a depth in quality and I found the entry
on a par with Specialties I have judged in the US. I was happy with all of my winners. I place a lot of
emphasis on the ‘Spaniel’ part of the Breed’s name and this was in evidence today.
